Start your Fourth of July weekend off with First Fridays

It may be Fourth of July weekend, but it’s also First Fridays in downtown Yakima, which means you’ll find new artworks at the downtown galleries, live music at many of the tasting rooms and restaurants — as well as drink specials — late hours for some boutique shopping and even tours of The Lofts and the Lund Building apartments.
Here’s the list of what’s going on Friday night, provided by the Committee for Downtown Yakima:
• 2-6 p.m. Tequlia’s — $1 margaritas.
• Buhrmaster Baking Co. — $1 off pints starting at 4 p.m.
• The Lofts — Tours from 4-7 p.m. with wine and appetizers.
• 5:30 p.m. Kana Winery — The Great Adventures of John Eakin & Jeff Hoppis (classic rock and blues).
• 5-8:30 p.m. Red Gallery — 469.2766 – New works by members of the artist cooperative.
• 5:30-8 p.m. Simon Gallery — Opening reception. New works by Dennis Evans, Nancy Mee, John Page and Susan Gellnar.
• 7 p.m. Santiagos — Wayman Chapman (R&B).
• 7 p.m. Plaza Socievole — Gentlemen Wild (rock).
• 7 p.m. Tim’s Downtown Tasting Room — Stephan George (rock).
• 7:30 p.m. The Depot — Anna Wilson.
• 8 p.m. Gilbert Cellars — Kyle Smeback (acoustic indie-rock).
• Russillo’s — Jim Henson (guitar).
• Lund Building Apartments — Open four tours until 8 p.m.
• Garden Dance — Open until 8 p.m.
• Garden Girl — Open until 8 p.m.
• The Little Soapmaker — Open until 8 p.m.
